RV Tips

The Company

First, are you traveling to be with family or heading out on an annual trip to treat yourself? If you’ll be spending the holiday with loved ones, are you hosting the party in your RV, or are you attending at a restaurant or someone’s home?

If you’re hosting, we recommend keeping your guest list small. If you take a look at many party games, you’ll find they are frequently for 4 to 8 people. That’s a great gathering number to fit in many of our new and used RVs for sale. Not too big, not too small – the “just right” party size!

The Spread

Ask your guests to contribute two finger foods and a drink. Make sure there’s a mix of sweet and savory! Some family-friendly ideas that the kids can help with include the following:

  • Lil’ Smokies – miniature smoked sausages mixed with barbeque sauce and warmed in a Crock Pot
  • Pigs in a Blanket – miniature smoked sausages wrapped in crescent roll dough and baked until golden brown
  • Nacho bar
  • Veggie or fruit & cheese tray
RV Tips

If you’re looking for traditional New Year’s Day foods, many regions have their own special foods that they serve for good luck, wealth, and prosperity. Even if it’s all in good fun, some of those superstitious foods include the following:

  • Black eyed peas
  • Leafy greens
  • Cabbage
  • Pork
  • Cornbread

The Games

My family doesn’t ring in the New Year without some good, clean party games! We utilize “minute to win it” games (do a quick internet search) at every major holiday. These games are perfect if you’re hosting the party in your new or used RV because they require very little prep, have supplies you probably already have on hand or are easy to come by, and create fun memories with lots of laughter for everyone. They’re also so quick paced and usually accommodating for children of all ages, so no one feels left out (and no one is spending an hour and a half reading the rule book).

Whatever your travel plans for the New Year are, we wish you peace, health, and joy in the year to come. We also hope your 2023 is filled with wonderful memories spent with the ones you love, so contact us if we can help make that a reality. Happy New Year!
