Top RV Tips for Working Remotely

One of the fringe benefits from the pandemic is the flexibility that was given almost overnight to the demands of working remotely. And if you own a new or used RV, working remotely means you can combine the flexibility of your job with your love for travel. Hitch up and go see the world! Here are some RV tips for working remotely to see if it could work for you!

RV Tips

Prioritize Connectivity

We love a good off-grid adventure as much as the next person, but if you’re working remotely, you do need to stay connected and have the ability to communicate with your supervisors or anyone in charge of your deadlines. So, you’ll want two things: a backup power plan, and WiFi connectivity.

RV Tips

For the first, we recommend upgrading your new or used RV with solar panel installation. Having solar panels (and parking in nice, sunny spaces to keep them charged) is the #1 way to make sure you have a backup source of power. On a smaller scale, keep a couple of charged power banks in your RV’s emergency supply kit.

RV Tips

For connectivity, try to stay at RV campgrounds that offer free WiFi. That’s a pretty good perk, but if service still isn’t great, you can still have a backup plan. You might consider adding a hotspot upgrade through your cell provider as a fallback plan if you’re staying in a place with spotty service.

Keep a Schedule

Combining job flexibility with the life you want to live can offer you some great advantages, but you still want to treat it responsibly! If you have some flexibility when choosing your hours, consider working on the weekends and enjoying the things you want to do during weekday mornings – different attractions may be less crowded or even have weekday discounts. Treat your schedule responsibly and carve out the time you need to clock, and allow yourself to play and explore in your down time.

Camping Destination

Another amenity many of our new and used RVs for sale offer is an interior workspace. We can’t emphasize this one enough! Having a specific area in your RV to do your work allows you to set boundaries and stay focused on the task at hand.
