Camping Destination

Icy Cold Waterfalls

One of my family’s favorite excursions in the fall and winter are to take forest hikes. The crisp, chilly air is perfect while you’re getting your heart rate up with a brisk hike. The icy cold mountain streams and waterfalls are utterly beautiful! Smoky Mountains National Park is famous for its iconic waterfalls, and three waterfall hikes you won’t want to miss are to Rainbow Falls, Laurel Falls, and Ramsey Cascades. Check out more information on the park’s waterfalls here and your hiking opportunites here.

Horseback Trails

Another excursion you’ll enjoy at Smoky Mountains National Park is the opportunity to go horseback riding! This relaxing activity is perfect at this time of year! Learn more here.

Camping Destination

Cades Cove

This is one scenic drive you’ll never forget! Spanning 11 miles, Cades Cove is an incredible opportunity for you to appreciate the landscape and plenty of wildlife spotting. Plenty of wildlife are on the move or involved in mating rituals at this time of year, so keep your camera handy. Make sure to abide by park rules and regulations and never approach wildlife. Stay at a safe distance – and if you want a closer look, use your zoom lens. Learn more about Cades Cove here.
